Meet Billie

Hi, I'm Billie, a clinical psychologist and founder of Begin Psychology.

I am dedicated to helping you understand your/your child's strengths and challenges, providing thorough psychological assessment services from age 5 to adulthood for neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions.

I provide clear, practical recommendations and tailored strategies that directly address the referral question, build on individual strengths, and support improved functional outcomes.

I am trained in multiple therapy modalities and provide psychological intervention to adults only.

I am also a board approved supervisor for provisional psychologists on the 4+2 and 5+1 pathway.

Billie's Background

Billie relocated to Australia from England in 2011, having grown up in various locations as part of a Defence family. She is happily married, a proud mother of two boys, and enjoys leading an active lifestyle. Billie initially studied nursing where she developed a strong interest in mental health, transitioning into psychology.

Billie has a bachelor degree with honours in psychological science, masters degree in clinical psychology, and completed the two-year registrar training program.

Billie has worked in the public health sector in multiple senior positions. She has also worked in the private sector, and for Defence. She has experience assessing a range of conditions including autism, learning disorders, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, FASD, and dementia. She has also worked with a range of complex mental health conditions within a psychiatry team including PTSD, anxiety, depression, personality disorders and eating disorders.

Billie is also an approved supervisor for the Psychology Board, and enjoys mentoring junior colleagues.

Billie engages in regular professional development to keep up to date with new research and continue to provide best practice.
