Billie has experience working with eating disorders in a specialist clinic for the public health service in inpatient and outpatient settings. She offers pre-bariatric surgery assessment to screen for conditions such as binge eating disorder, bulimia nervosa, or other disordered eating behaviours to identify factors that may impact post-surgical outcomes. Surgery changes stomach size — but it does not automatically change eating behaviours. Problematic patterns may persist or re-emerge. Assessment can identify modifiable factors and strategies to optimise outcomes.
